Clarity over confusion

It’s possible to miss someone and still be better without them. That’s the contradiction no one prepares you for, the way your chest aches at the thought of them, even as your life quietly begins to mend in their absence. You remember the laughter, the late-night conversations, the moments that felt like forever. And yet, under all of that nostalgia is the quiet truth: they weren’t what you needed. Maybe they didn’t show up for you. Maybe they loved in ways that only drained you. Missing them doesn’t mean you made a mistake by letting go. It means you cared deeply. It means you’re human.

Healing isn’t black and white. It’s learning to carry love and loss in the same heart, to miss someone without wanting them back. Some people leave a mark on your soul, even if they were never meant to stay. You can grieve the connection and still honor your decision to choose peace over chaos, clarity over confusion. Don’t shame yourself for the longing. Let it pass through you like a wave, but don’t swim back into the deep just because you remember how it felt to float. Some separations are the beginning of you finally coming home to yourself.
