Vulnerability and resilience

We often find ourselves at odds with the parts of us that feel vulnerable, as if they’re a sign of weakness or failure. These vulnerabilities—whether it’s our fears, insecurities, or moments of self-doubt—are often the things we’re most eager to hide or deny. It’s easier to build walls around them, to pretend they don’t exist, because acknowledging them feels like giving in to some unspoken shame. But the truth is, it’s these very vulnerabilities that connect us to our shared humanity. They remind us that we are not alone in our struggles, that everyone carries their own burdens, even if they appear invisible on the outside.

Instead of viewing vulnerability as a flaw, we should recognize it as the source of our strength and growth. Our willingness to be open about our fears and flaws fosters empathy, allowing us to relate to others on a deeper level. It’s in embracing our vulnerabilities that we discover our true resilience—how we bounce back, adapt, and continue moving forward. Vulnerability isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s a testament to our courage. When we stop hating these parts of ourselves and start accepting them, we open the door to healing, self-compassion, and ultimately, a more authentic connection to the world around us.
